Bengaluru: BIG Relief For Commuters! New 9-Km Link Road To Ease Traffic Between Nayandahalli And Kengeri

The Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) has announced the construction of a 9-kilometre link road at the BHEL-Deepanjali Nagar Junction in Bengaluru. This new road aims to alleviate heavy traffic congestion between Nayandahalli and Kengeri, improving vehicle flow towards key locations like PES College and Hosakerehalli.

Once completed, the road will provide a seamless route from Deepanjali Nagar, bypassing the crowded Rajarajeshwari Nagar Junction, Bengaluru University, and Pattanagere. Motorists will be able to reach Kengeri in just 20 minutes, a significant reduction from the current 60-minute commute during peak hours.

The first 1.5 km of the link road will be toll-free, benefiting drivers heading towards PES College Junction and Banashankari. According to a NICE official, the new route will help ease the daily traffic struggles of commuters traveling to places like PES College, Banashankari, and those heading towards Mysuru from areas like Chamrajpet and Vijayanagar. The link road will also eliminate the need to navigate the busy Outer Ring Road or deal with multiple traffic signals on Mysuru Road.

By avoiding at least four traffic signals along the route between Deepanjali Nagar and Kengeri, the link road is expected to reduce traffic on Mysuru Road by around 30%, distributing vehicles more efficiently.

Additionally, once the 13-kilometre project from Sompura is completed, it will provide easier access to the Bengaluru-Mysuru access-controlled highway, benefitting larger vehicles traveling to the Bidadi Industrial Area and further alleviating congestion on Mysuru Road. However, there are concerns about delays in the 13-kilometre project due to land acquisition issues.
