People waiting for the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will have to wait longer. The project is now expected to be completed in 2026, as reported by Jagran.
The game changer project which will connect the two cities, is now facing a delay in the completion. According to Jagran Minister of State for Road Transport and Highway, Harsh Mallhotra on Friday mentioned that the work on the entire expressway will be completed in 2026.
The project connecting two big cities, Delhi and Mumbai was supposed to be completed in January 2023, but it got delayed due to some technical issues.
As quoted by Jagran, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highway, Harsh Mallhotra said, “Work is progressing, but technical and practical problems, especially involving land acquisition from the general public, have caused setbacks.”
Currently, some portions of this expressway are operational. The first section of this expressway connecting Sohna in Haryana with Dausa in Rajasthan was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2023.
Recently, another section of this expressway was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi in Rajasthan.
About The Project
The expressway will reduce the travel time and make the journey comfortable for commuters. It is going to save time of the commuters using the route.
The length of the expressway is 1,386 km. This expressway reduces the 24-hours journey to just 12 hours.
