Himachal Pradesh chief minister Jairam Thakur lauded the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, which the BJP is celebrating across the country to mark 75 years of India’s independence, and said this is how Prime Minister Narendra Modi operates.
Also, mocking the previous UPA regimes, he said that the 50th anniversary of the independence was not celebrated like this.
The Himachal Pradesh CM attended the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ yatra under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ campaign in Shimla. He flagged of the yatra by waving Tricolor at Mall road in the city.
While addressing a gathering there, he said, “‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is being observed across the nation. This is how PM Modi operates.”
“On the other hand, the fiftieth year of independence had just passed us by like a routine (event). It wasn’t packaged like this big event,” added Jairam Thakur.
Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of India’s people, culture and achievements.
This Mahotsav is dedicated to the people of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing India thus far in its evolutionary journey but also hold within them the power and potential to enable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The official journey of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav commenced on March 12, 2021, which started a 75-week countdown to our 75th anniversary of independence.
