Cristiano Ronaldo regained the top spot in the list of highest-earning footballers when he recently signed a record deal with Al Nassr. The star footballer has reportedly signed a deal worth more than 200 million euros with the Saudi Arabia-based club. The record deal saw him replace PSG star Kylian Mbappe as the top-earning footballer.
Ronaldo will reportedly earn another 200 million euros during his stay in Saudi Arabia. As per AFP, Saudi Arabia will be capitalising on Ronaldo’s mass reach and he will be playing an ambassadorial role to bring the 2030 FIFA World Cup there.
“Ronaldo will be paid more than 200 million euros ($214 million) for the deal. He will be an ambassador for the Saudi World Cup 2030 bid for another 200 million,” a source was quoted as saying by AFP.
Ronaldo is undoubtedly the most-followed player in the sport and Saudi Arabia is hoping that his presence will bolster their chances of hosting the global event. Ronaldo’s role in Saudi Arabia’s bidding for the World Cup will see him earn 400 million euros. He had a salary of 20 million pounds during his 2nd stint with Manchester United.

When will Cristiano Ronaldo make his Al Nassr debut?
Cristiano Ronaldo’s much-awaited Al Nassr debut has been delayed due to his two-match ban. He was banned for 2 matches for smashing a fan’s phone during his Manchester United stint. Ronaldo is also confirmed to miss Al-Nassr’s next game on January 14. He is all but confirmed to make his Al Nassr debut on January 22.
But he could very play a game in Saudi Arabia before making his Al Nassr debut. The Saudi Arabian club is set to play a friendly game against Paris Saint-Germain on January 19. Ronaldo could be part of that friendly fixture which might see him pitted against Lionel Messi.
