Four Maoists were neutralised by security forces in an encounter in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh on Saturday ( July 26, 2025). As per media reports, a gun fight broke out in the evening in a forest in the southwestern part of the district when a team of security forces was out on an anti-Maoist operation following information about the presence of Maoists.

So far, the bodies of four Maoists have been found at the encounter site, and a massive quantity of weapons, including INSAS and SLR rifles, have also been recovered. 

In a previous incident a joint team was formed to verify information about a group of CPI Maoists, led by Sahdev Soren (alias Anuj, alias Pravesh Soren), a Central Committee Member, and Chanchal (alias Raghunath, alias Kanha), in the anti-Naxal operation in Jharkhand’s Bokaro district on July 16, 2025. SP Bokaro stated that during the operation, CPI Maoists attacked them. The police retaliated in self-defence, and after controlling the situation, recovered two bodies. One soldier, Praneshwar from the 209 Battalion, was killed by a bullet during the encounter.
