3 superstars who can dethrone WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns

WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns has been a force since his WWE return in 2020. Just a week after making a shocking comeback at SummerSlam, he won the Universal Championship and has retained it since then. At Wrestlemania 38, Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar to walk out of the AT&T Stadium with the Universal Championship and the WWE Championship.
While The Head of the Table is likely to continue his domination, there could be a case that he might lose one championship as Reigns doesn’t appear on WWE television regularly. There are few contenders who can dethrone the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion. Here’s a look at them –
Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins is among very few superstars who have defeated Reigns since his WWE return. The former Universal Champion defeated Reigns at Royal Rumble 2022 earlier in the year but the title didn’t change hands as the win came via disqualification. It was the only televised opportunity that he got for the Universal Championship.
Rollins is the top face on WWE Raw and can dethrone Reigns if he wins the Money in the Bank and then cashes it. The Visionary had successfully won the WWE Championship by cashing in the briefcase in the main event of Wrestlemania 31 between Reigns and Brock Lesnar.
Drew McIntyre
A two-time WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre has been out of the title picture for a year now. But he looks set to get his opportunity at Clash at the Castle, which takes place in Cardiff in September. With McIntyre performing in front of the UK crowd, he is the favourite to dethrone the champion. Reigns is likely to retain both titles till then.
Bobby Lashley
Courtesy of his win over Lesnar at the Royal Rumble 2022, Bobby Lashley is also a top contender to regain the WWE Championship or the Universal Championship for the first time in his career. Lashley had recently hinted at coming back into the title picture when he waved a fan’s championship after his win over Omos at Hell in a Cell.
It is to be noted that Lashley never lost his WWE Championship. He was ruled out of the Elimination Chamber match after being injured in the chamber. He had to walk out of the match and is yet to get a title opportunity. If Lashley can defeat Lesnar, he can definitely dethrone Reigns.
