In a massive explosion reported from near the Quetta Railway Station in Pakistan on Saturday, at least 24 were killed and over 53 were injured. Quetta Division Commissioner Hamza Shafqat confirmed the death toll, adding that the incident was a suicide blast, reported Dawn News.
Quetta Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Mohammad Baloch said that probe is underway to examine the nature of blast. He further added that the incident “seems to be a suicide blast” but it would be too early to say for sure, adding that an investigation was underway to ascertain the nature of the blast, reported Pakistan’s Dawn News.
SSP Baloch informed about the CCTV footage reviewed by him which showed around 100 people were present at the site. Government officials added that hospitals have been alerted and injured are provided with Medical aid.
Police and Security forces have reached the spot and investigation is underway.
